What you can do: Please work with your local Townships and County to stop this power grab. (You might want to work within your County group, to form a plan.)
Contact your Townships, County Commissioners and County Engineer to alert them of this potential problem.
Educate and ask for help from:
Citizens in the Townships
Ohio Township Association, the County Commissioners Association of Ohio and the County Engineers Association of Ohio
State Reps and Senators
Ask your Townships to be proactive and pass a road agreement, similar to the protective Jefferson County road agreement. To do this, the Townships need to work with the County Engineer to enter into an agreement. Then, the County Commissioners must approve it by passing a resolution.
If you have any questions about this road agreement or the potential power grab by the state, please feel free to contact Terry Bell, Salem Township Trustee, who helped write the Jefferson County road agreement.
